The United Kingdom is set to make an announcement regarding its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 on March 2.

Posting on social media, LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER has hinted at an announcement being made regarding their participation in Eurovision 2026 tomorrow. In the video clip, he encourages people to tune into The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 on Monday morning.

The Scott Mills Breakfast Show is live on BBC Radio 2 from 07:30 to 10:30 CET. Traditionally, UK Eurovision announcements have taken place during the second half of the show after 09:00 CET.

LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER was chosen internally to represent the UK from a selection process organised by David May, UK’s Eurovision Project Director and Andrew Cartmell, Executive Producer of BBC Studios North who is the Head of Delegation for the UK at Eurovision.

The United Kingdom will be participating in the contest and have automatically qualified for the Grand Final on Saturday the 16th of May as one of the countries that contributes the most financially alongside France, Germany and Italy as well as the hosts Austria.

United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest+

The United Kingdom debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 and holds the record for the most consecutive appearances in the contest. To date, the UK has won the contest a total of five times, with their first victory coming in 1967 and their latest in 1997. The UK holds the record for the most second-place finishes in the contest, having been runner-up a total of 16 times. Since 2000 the UK has finished within the top 10 only three times, this being in 2002 with Jessica Garlick, 2009 with Jade Ewen and 2022 with Sam Ryder who finished 2nd in Turin.
