If you have no time – or desire – to search for something good to watch this week, don’t fret because we’re here to help. We’ve done the time-consuming task of previewing all of this week’s new shows to bring you the only shows worth watching. The criteria? We must consider them to be truly fantastic – or they don’t make the cut.
Perhaps most intriguingly, Guy Ritchie is bringing us the legendary origin story of Sherlock Holmes in a new eight-part drama, Young Sherlock. There’s also the return of the BBC’s race-against-the-clock thriller, The Capture and Claudia Winkleman is making her highly-anticipated Crufts debut on Channel 4. Gone 
ITV
ITV’s blockbuster dramas continue with another masterpiece in the form of Gone. Written by George Kay (Hijack), the new series stars the always brilliant Eve Myles (Keeping Faith) as gutsy Detective Annie Cassidy, who’s investigating the mysterious disappearance of Bristol woman, Sarah. And her main suspect? Sarah’s husband, Headmaster Michael Polly, who’s played by Sherwood’s David Morrissey. Genius casting indeed! Arriving on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday 8th March.
Crufts

More than 18,600 canines are strutting their paws around the halls of Birmingham’s NEC as the world’s most famous dog show returns. And who better to join the Channel 4 presenting team than The Traitors host, Claudia Winkleman? All the actions kicks off on Thursday 5th March with agility contests, freestyle heelwork to music and head-to-head relay races between dog teams taking place until Sunday 8th March, when the Best in Show winner will be crowned. Arriving on Channel 4 on Thursday 5th March.
Vladimir

Sharon Horgan has answered our TV prayers and she’s teaming up with Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz for a new Netflix series. The eight-part drama is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed book, Vladimir, by Julia May Jonas, which tells the story of a beloved English professor facing a slew of accusations against her professor husband by former students. Complicated, yes, but even more so when she develops an obsession of her own. Arriving on Netflix on Thursday 5th March.
The Capture

After two hugely compelling series, the BBC’s hit conspiracy thriller is officially returning – and according to Director of BBC Drama Lindsay Salt it “will dazzle and terrify you in equal measure”. The first two series saw Holliday Grainger’s DI Rachel Carey race against the clock to get to the bottom of two major conspiracies that involved video manipulation and, much to our relief, she’s returning to duty. Only, this time, she finds herself much more deeply involved. In fact, she’s at the heart of the conspiracy. Arriving on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm on Sunday 8th March.
Marshals: A Yellowstone Story

Another Yellowstone spin-off? Yes, really. Fan-favourite Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) is back and he’s said goodbye to the Yellowstone ranch. But he’s certainly not taking things easy, as he’s joined an elite unit of US Marshals tasked with restoring order in Montana. Kayce and his teammates – Pete Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), Andrea Santos (Ash Santos) and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means) – must juggle family duties at home with the high psychological cost of serving as the last line of defence in the region’s war on violence with their duty to their families. Arriving on Paramount+ on Monday 2nd March.
Young Sherlock

His grisly gangster drama, MobLand, might have taken the streaming world by storm, with a record-breaking 2.2 million global viewers on release, but Guy Ritchie is bringing us another series set to steal the glory. Inspired by Andy Lane’s Young Sherlock Holmes novels, the eight-part series will tell the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective Sherlock Holmes. With Hero Fiennes Tiffin starring in the titular role and Firth playing Sir Bucephalus Hodge, it’s got smash hit series written all over it. Arriving on Prime Video on Wednesday 4th March.
High Potential

The second series of Disney+’s cosy crime drama isn’t over yet as more episodes are on the way (following a minor hiatus). Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) is back as the feisty single mum of three who swaps cleaning for crime-solving and the stakes have been raised by an elusive foe known as the Game Maker who targets Morgan and her loved ones. Meanwhile, the hunt for Morgan’s missing husband, Roman, continues. Arriving on Disney+ on Wednesday 4th March.
