Coronation Street’s Amy Robbins has become a firm favourite playing Christina Boyd – but it turns out the actress comes from a rather famous family.
Amy joined the ITV soap in 2023 as Christina, Daisy Midgeley’s (Charlotte Jordan) mother. Since then, Christina has become a regular and has been involved in several big storylines, too.
From her devious catfishing scheme to finding love with undertaker George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), her time in Weatherfield has not been short of drama.
However, over on the soap recently, Christina has been supporting George after he was accused of profiting from a client’s will, leaving him absolutely devastated.

As well as Corrie, actress Amy Robbins has appeared in several shows over the years. A RADA-trained talent, Amy has had stints on shows like Where the Heart Is, Heartbeat, Hollyoaks, EastEnders, Holby City, Doctors, and even Emmerdale.
What’s more, Amy hails from a family brimming with talent. Amy’s brother Ted has had his share of Corrie limelight. He starred in the soap seven years ago playing Mary Taylor’s love interest, Brendan Finch. However, he’s additionally well-known for his work in films such as Calendar Girls, The Slammer, Diddy Movies, and Benidorm.

In 2023, Amy shared the advice Ted gave her after she learned she had landed a part in the hit ITV soap. She told The Mirror: “He told me not to underestimate the feeling of standing in the Rovers for the first time. He said it would be overwhelming, and he was right.
“His other piece of advice was not to call William Roache ‘Ken’ like he did. Ted bumped into William and accidentally said ‘hello Mr Barlow’.”
Meanwhile, Amy’s sister, Kate Robbins, is also a famous face, and the pair appeared together in the 1986 sketch show Robbins. Kate has graced the screen in shows such as Spitting Image, After Life, and EastEnders, while her daughter is I’m A Celeb and Rivals star, Emily Atack.
But that is not all, as Amy’s first cousin once removed is The Beatles legend Paul McCartney. Paul is Amy’s mum’s cousin, and she’s spoken fondly of him, saying: “He’s everything you would hope him to be, genuinely lovely.”

Meanwhile, recently talking about Christina and George finding love on Coronation Street, Amy said: “She has finally found someone to love – and to love her back. I don’t think she’s ever had that before. I think she’s been lonely for a long time, and that’s why they work so well together.”
George actor Tony also added to Inside Soap: “She is fun and she’s a great laugh, Christina. And even though you’ve become nice, you haven’t lost that mischievous edge.
“Weirdly, even though they’re very different people, they fit together quite well. I think they’re a bit like Alf and Audrey used to be. Audrey was a bad mother to Gail. Alf was her rock, and she was very loyal to him.”
