The referee appointments have been made for round four of Super League where the standout fixture puts St Helens up against Bradford Bulls.
Both clubs have won two of their opening three fixtures and they’re only separated by one point on goal difference as well, with Saints just ahead in third place in Super League.
Paul Rowley will also be very familiar with the man in the opposition coaching box with his former Salford assistant Kurt Haggerty in charge at Bradford, adding an extra layer to the game.
Jack Smith, freshly returned from Las Vegas, will take charge of that game with Tom Grant as the video referee on Saturday evening.
Also playing on Saturday evening are Toulouse and Wigan with Liam Rush in charge whilst Chris Kendall works the video referee gig. It’s worth noting that Kendall is still yet to serve as the on-pitch referee yet with the experienced official still recovering from injury.
Another intriguing game opens up the round with Wakefield hosting Hull FC in a battle of last year’s sixth and seventh-placed sides, who both have just one win so far. Aaron Moore will referee with brother Liam Moore on video referee.
Liam then takes charge of York versus Warrington on Friday night with James Vella in support, with Friday’s other fixture between Leigh and Catalans being officiated by Marcus Griffiths. Jack Smith is the video referee for that one.
Onto Sunday and the games that feature the teams returning from Las Vegas. Victors Leeds Rhinos host Castleford Tigers with James Vella in charge and Marcus Griffiths the video referee, whilst Hull KR travel to Huddersfield where Tom Grant will officiate with Aaron Moore in support.
