Tom’s manager, Charles Lago, confirmed the news of his death in 2023, stating the actor passed away at a California hospital, at 61 years old.

Charles told TMZ: “It is with great sadness and sorrow I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore (“Tom Sizemore”) aged 61 passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St Joseph’s Hospital Burbank. His Brother Paul and twin boys Jayden and Jagger (17) were at his side.”

Charles had earlier confirmed that the actor suffered the brain aneurysm on 18 February, losing consciousness at approximately 2am. In a devastating update on his condition, Charles subsequently revealed that Tom’s critical state meant recovery would not be possible following his hospitalisation.

Charles informed supporters on 20 February: “Today doctors informed his family that there is no further hope and have recommended end of life decision.

“The family is now deciding end of life matters and a further statement will be issued on Wednesday,” Charles stated. He continued: “We are asking for privacy for his family during this difficult time, and they wish to thank everyone for the hundreds of messages of support and prayers that have been received. This has been a difficult time for them.”

Tom was a prominent figure in the film industry, with his illustrious career spanning several decades. His most notable roles include performances in Natural Born Killers, Black Hawk Down, Born On The Fourth Of July, and Heat.

His last venture saw him step into the shoes of a police detective in the sci-fi flick Impuratus. His character evolves into a believer in the supernatural following the deathbed confession of a Civil War veteran.

In a previous interview with Age Of The Nerd, he expressed: “I enjoyed the script. It is a terrific leading part. It was a period piece, which was interesting, and I really like the people that were involved.”

Tom shared his excitement about the film, revealing that he was impressed by an “early cut” and that he “can’t wait to see the final version with the music all in.”

He further commented: “The quality was astounding, the acting (including some of mine, of course), but seriously everyone was outstanding and the photography superb.”

During the conversation, Tom reflected on his 30-year-long career, attributing his success to his “passion for the work.” Tom is survived by his 17 year old twin sons, Jagger and Jayden Sizemore, whom he shares with Janelle McIntire. It’s likely that his estate, worth around $500,000 was left to the two boys.
