Hollyoaks star Oscar Curtis has faced some real-life drama away from the Channel 4 soap after the young actor was taken to the hospital following an encounter with an animal that ended with a nasty bite.
The star, who portrays Lucas Hay in the series, is currently on holiday in the Indian city of Mumbai, and has shared several pictures from his trip to his personal Instagram account.
In one such post on his Instagram Stories, the actor could be pictured feeding some monkeys, with the next post reading (via Daily Mail): “Moments before the little shit bit me and I had to go to hospital for rabies jabs FFS.”
The actor, who debuted as Lucas in 2023, subsequently clarified that he was “all good” and didn’t have rabies. It seems he wasn’t in the hospital for long, as he has promptly resumed his travels and posted more pictures.
“Past couple days have been eventful, happy holi,” he wrote in his latest social media post following the incident, with one follower replying: “Absolutely amazing hope ur having the best time.”

“Great pictures mate! I’m so happy you’re enjoying your time away. I can’t wait to see Lucas back in Hollyoaks this week – it’s not been the same without him,” added another happy fan.
While Curtis is currently enjoying his break on the other side of the world, his character doesn’t have it so nice in Chester as he is currently incarcerated for the hostage situation involving his father, Ste.
He has, however, managed to slowly patch things up with former flame Dillon Ray, but Lucas will get a shock in upcoming scenes as the arrival of a new cellmate threatens his state of mind as well as his safety.

“Things are looking up for Lucas, with Dillon prepared to give him another chance,” our Hollyoaks source explained. “Despite warnings from Vicky Grant that Lucas shouldn’t be trusted again, Dillon sees that his ex-boyfriend is trying hard to work on himself.”
“[He’s trying to] make up for the past. [But] Lucas’s joy over his love life could be short-lived, though, when his sinister new cellmate arrives. Who’ll be causing trouble for him behind bars?” they added.
