GB News descended into chaos as presenter Cristo Foufas and journalist Jonathan Lis butted heads live on air. It came as Jonathan claimed that the news channel’s viewers don’t represent the wider population, forcing Cristo to fire back with viewer comments as he desperately tried to prove a point.

Cristo read out a view from an angry fan, who had tweeted: “I can’t listen to this any longer. I just switched on. You don’t speak for this country. I’ve just turned on and saw that Lis is off and switched off immediately.” As he reeled off the opinion, Jonathan repeatedly sighed and looked uncomfortable as he begged him to stop. “Oh for God’s sake,” he sighed. “Don’t be a prat all your life mate. Just take a break from being yourself.” Exasperated, Cristo replied: “I’m not! I’m reading out the mood of the nation. The nation that you think you know so well, this is what they think.”

They then began to shout over each other as Jonathan yelled: “I’m saying that GB News viewers are not necessarily reflective of the entire British population.

“It’s not an insult, it’s an observation. Don’t be such a snowflake wet wipe for goodness sake!”

Comedian Paul Cox then weighed in too as he said: “Can I just say, for clarity and balance, I love the GB News family? Every single one of them, I consider to be an intellectual and someone I would trust.”

Cristo then added: “I really love the fact that they’re not backwards at coming forwards, they give their opinions.”

Host Patrick Christys then tried to cut in but Cristo hit back: “I’m still speaking there, Patrick.”

He then continued: “They are absolutely lovely, lovely people and very, very accurate in their analysis of certain others.”

Patrick then said that he backed that as he thanked the GB Viewers for the success of his career.

At the end of the segment, fans seemed confused as to why Jonathan was on a programme that he “clearly hates”.

On X/Twitter, one person wrote: “Jonathan is happy to take a fee for his verbal diarrhoea, of which we are forced to watch. of which we are forced to watch. He was puffing & sighing all evening on Patrick’s show, he must be paid well as it’s obvious he hates GB news.”

Another echoed: “Jonathan Lis has no place on GB News, it’s great to have an alternative view to challenge but he’s just miserable, makes things personal and has absolutely no sense of humour whatsoever so ever…” While a third simply penned: “Jonathan cringe as always.”
