Coventry indie heroes The Enemy have announced they will be celebrating the release of their new album after being forced to cancel the original launch party last month.

The band, famed for their now iconic Coventry City anthem We’ll Live and Die in These Towns, was meant to celebrate the launch of new album Social Disguises with a series of shows, including one at hmv Empire.

But a family medical emergency meant the Coventry date, as well as several others, was reluctantly cancelled. But this week, the band issued a statement on its social media channels that local fans are sure to be happy about.

“It didn’t feel right to be celebrating our new album without a hometown show,” it read. Thanks to hmv Empire we’re going to be playing for one night only on Friday 8 May to celebrate the release of ‘Social Disguises’ in Cov!

“We’ve made this a full capacity show which means we won’t be able to include a signing opportunity after the gig, however we have arranged something special for those who manage to get tickets.

“Every ticket for this show will include an exclusive limited edition copy of ‘Social Disguises’ with a sky blue disc. See you down the front.”

Tickets are on sale now.
