It didn’t take long for EastEnders fans to predict the arrival for Josh (Joshua Vaughan), Jasmine Fisher’s (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) twin brother, after he made contact last month and their theory has come to pass, with the newcomer imminently set to make his debut.
And he’s not on his own, with adopted mother Sandra Goodwin (Dawn Steele) set to hit the Square as well.
Jasmine, as viewers know, is currently being held in prison after being charged with the murder of Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey), who she killed at Christmas to protect Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan).
The crime was technically one of self-defence, with Jasmine defending estranged mum Zoe from Anthony, whose behaviour in the lead up to the showdown with his ex was unnerving.
Jasmine, however, let Zoe go to prison for weeks.
Kat (Jessie Wallace) desperately tried to free Zoe and ultimately she did just that with some assistance from Christie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman), calling the police after Jasmine confessed to the crime.
There is video evidence to back up Jasmine’s claims of self-defence on her phone, which is currently in Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) possession.
Cindy got a big shock last month when she attempted to destroy the device, hoping to secure nemesis Jasmine’s future behind bars, only for Jasmine’s estranged brother Josh to get in touch.
Ahead of the trial, Josh’s mum Sandra rocks up in the Square seeking answers about Jasmine, which unveils new details from her past.

Little does Sandra know, however, that Josh has followed her to Walford, unaware that his birth family are incredibly close to where he’s standing.
Zoe, as viewers know, has been desperately searching for her son so just how will she react when she comes face-to-face with Josh after all this time?
What’s more, can they succeed in getting Jasmine out of trouble with the law? Or is she destined to face a life in prison?
And then of course there’s Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) to factor in. Oscar was in a relationship with Jasmine earlier this year but they went their separate ways due to Jas’ treatment of him and her troublemaking ways. It’s believed that Oscar will soon embark on a relationship with Josh, creating quite the love triangle!

There’s certainly a lot to come and Josh and Sandra’s arrival will cause repercussions for everyone involved.
On joining EastEnders as Josh, Joshua Vaughan said: ‘It has been incredibly humbling to join the cast of EastEnders and find myself at the intersection of the iconic Trueman and Slater families.
‘Getting to work alongside such legacy actors is a masterclass, and I’ve learned so much from them. Josh is a big ball of love and I’m so excited for the audience to see the drama unfold as he arrives onto the Square.’

Dawn Steele played Ange Goddard on Holby City (Picture: BBC/Kieron McCarron)
Holby City star Dawn Steele will star as Sandra for a short stint. ‘I was thrilled to be asked to play the role of Sandra who arrives and throws a spanner or two into the Square!,’ she said.
‘It was so great to go back to Elstree after the end of Holby City. Lots of the same crew (and a few cast!) are still there so it was joyful to see them all again.
‘Everyone was so welcoming and I really enjoyed learning new ways of filming, it really is a well-oiled machine, and everyone works so hard. But it was Sandra’s storyline and character that really made me want to do it and I’m sure viewers will be thrilled with another piece of the puzzle ahead of the trial, Sandra’s timing couldn’t be better, or worse…’
EastEnders boss Ben Wadey added: ‘I’m thrilled to welcome Dawn Steele and Josh Vaughan to EastEnders as they step into the roles of Sandra and Josh Goodwin. Since her return last year, Zoe has searched for her long‑lost son, and we’re excited to finally add the missing pieces to her story.
‘As always with the Slaters and Truemans, nothing is ever straightforward, and the arrival of Sandra and Josh promises even more drama for Walford at a pivotal moment as Jasmine’s trial begins’.
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One or stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
