Gareth Bale has explained to Gary Neville and Co that he thinks that Carlo Ancelotti would be a major success story at Old Trafford if Manchester United appointed him.
Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with Manchester United and the 66-year-old Italian head coach is tipped as one potential candidate for the vacant head coach role.
‘Don Carlo’ has been with the Brazil national team since last summer after the ex-Everton boss left La Liga outfit Real Madrid at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
The Brazil head coach’s current deal with the five-time World Cup champions is set to expire in the summer after the end of the 2026 North America-hosted tournament.

Carlo Ancelotti inked a 12-month contract with Brazil in 2025, but the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) are now keen to tie down his long-term future.
It has been reported that the Brazil manager is likely to be handed a new deal that would keep him with the national team through to the 2030 World Cup competition.
Gareth Bale, who played under Ancelotti at Los Blancos in his prolific spell, made an appearance on the latest episode of The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast.
Speaking to Bale, Gary Neville said: “I mean, Carlo Ancelotti has been mentioned as a potential candidate for United.
“How do you think he would potentially fit in there? Do you think it would work, or do you sense it might be a struggle for him?”
Bale was keen to spotlight Ancelotti’s extensive resume, including the former AC Milan and Chelsea manager’s success at managing a side like Everton as well.
“Well, he did well at Everton,” he said.
“I think he would do great, and he’s not just a manager. He is a coach as well.
“He can do the tactical stuff. When his son was the head coach in his second spell, and he did a lot more tactically than we did the first time. But I think we had a better team the first time.”
Does Michael Carrick REALLY have traits like Carlo Ancelotti? Do you see it?!

Manchester United are on the hunt for their seventh permanent manager in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era of the Premier League club after Ruben Amorim’s exit.
Ruben Amorim was sacked as Man Utd manager in January after his 14-month reign at Old Trafford and Michael Carrick was installed as an interim head coach.
Speaking on former Madrid manager Ancelotti, Bale added: “But yeah, I think he would… Wherever Carlo goes, I think he would do an amazing job just because he gets everyone on board.”
Michael Carrick has managed eight matches so far in his interim head coach reign and the United legend has won six Premier League fixtures since his appointment.
