She had been in Dubai visiting her sister with her daughter Bonnie when the attacks began. She was in tears as she left with her tot, who is two and a half years old.
Sharing a snap from the aircraft on Instagram, Laura revealed both the airport and the plane were quiet as she too thanked the UAE government for looking after her. She captioned her upload: “The airport was quiet as expected. People were so helpful, I felt a bit teary. Everyone on board is very quiet. I assume on edge like me.”
Insisting that, despite previously sharing her concerns, she was feeling positive, she went on: “My dad’s favourite song just came on so I’m feeling positive.
“Thank you to the UAE government for protecting us and for continuing to protect my friends and family. I will always be proud to have been an ex-pat.”
