Hull KR’s Declan Murphy has suffered a fresh injury setback.

Head coach Willie Peters has named an unchanged squad to travel to Huddersfield Giants on Sunday, urging his side for an immediate response following their heavy Las Vegas defeat.

The Robins head to the Accu Stadium still searching for their first competition points of the year, following defeats to York Knights and Leeds Rhinos – though with a game in hand following the World Club Challenge triumph over Brisbane Broncos.

Luke Robinson’s Huddersfield are also winless to start their new campaign, opening their year with defeats to Catalans Dragons, Wakefield Trinity and Castleford Tigers.

The Giants have also been rocked by two more fresh injuries, with Sam Halsall and Zac Woolford out due to a hamstring issue and a head knock respectively. They join the likes of Niall Evalds, Adam Swift, Adam Clune, Harry Rushton, Joe Greenwood and Liam Sutcliffe on the sidelines.

Hull KR meanwhile are expected to be without off-season recruit and full-back Declan Murphy for an extended period. Love Rugby League reports that the former Salford Red Devils youngster recently suffered an MCL injury while featuring for the club’s reserves.

He is expected to be out for up to 12 weeks, while Jack Broadbent recently featured at full-back in the absence of Arthur Mourgue, with the France international requiring surgery on a pec injury suffered against Brisbane.

Hull KR travel to Huddersfield on Sunday, March 8, with a 3:00pm kick-off, and will return for the Challenge Cup fourth round tie the following week.
