Three people have been charged with murder over the death of Michael Ababio in Coventry as detectives continue the hunt for another suspect.

Michael Ababio, 18, tragically died after he was stabbed near Foleshill Library on 22 February.

Mahad Mohammed, 19, has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

Two 17-year-old boys, who cannot be named due to their age, have also been charged with murder and attempted murder.

They were remanded in custody and will be appearing before Coventry Magistrates Court tomorrow (Saturday).

The charges come as police are still looking for Ismael Nabeel.

Officers urge anyone who knows his whereabouts to call 101 quoting log 4185 of 22 February.

Three other people arrested earlier this week – a girl aged 17, a woman aged 19 and a man aged 23 – have all been bailed.

Det Insp Nigel Box, leading the investigation, said: “Investigators have worked tirelessly since Michael’s tragic murder and we will continue to gather evidence to understand the circumstances surrounding his death.

“Michael’s family have been updated and we continue to support them.”

West Midlands Police’s Major Incident Public Portal is still open, allowing anyone with still or moving images of what happened to send them directly to the force.
