MAN OF LA MANCHA (3.45) is a stand-out selection at sunny Brighton on Wednesday.
The three-year-old has held his form well this season and still appears to be improving.
He lines up for the Sapporo Japanese Premium Lager Brighton Mile Handicap off a rating of 80 – and I think he can win races off this mark.
Man Of La Mancha won easily over a mile on fast ground at Windsor in April and he will face similar conditions.
He has posted two strong finishing placed efforts at Sandown in his last two races and I would expect Ed Greatrex to have him handy to use his stamina.
At Kempton, SYNERGISM (8.55) can continue his decent campaign with another victory.
He has posted two victories and may show even more improvement over the 2m trip.
CAPTAIN CORELLI (3.30) is coming to the boil after three starts and should be competitive at Pontefract.
He rattled off a four-timer last summer and the handicapper has finally started to release its grip.
Off bottom weight in the Riu Hotels And Resorts Ladies’ Day Veterans’ Handicap, he should go close.
MISSMIMI (4.05, nb) won easily over the course and distance at the “M62 track” in July before a solid second at Doncaster.
Back over the minimum trip under Jo Mason, Missmimi is fancied to regain the winning thread.
SENOR CORTEZ (5.15, trb) stepped up on previous efforts to run a blinding second at Southwell nine days ago and can win the opener at Yarmouth.
He can give young Henry Callan – son of Neil and brother of jockey Jack – his first winner under Rules.
And NEPAL (6.52, nap) looks a cut above his rivals in the maiden.
