Newcastle United are preparing for a crucial few weeks in their season, with two huge Champions League games against Barcelona this month.
The Magpies’ hopes of European qualification next season will also be boosted by positive results in their next two Premier League games . . . at Chelsea and at home to Tyne-Wear rivals Sunderland.
Whatever happens in coming days, Newcastle are making big plans for the summer transfer window, and have money available to spend. The World Cup could make early deals hard to secure, but United are looking to act fast after a frustrating window in 2025.
They have already been linked with a number of targets, which several big-name Newcastle players are attracting attention elsewhere. Here’s the latest transfer news and rumours.

Dominic Solanke links
Newcastle could make a move for Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke should Spurs be relegated from the Premier League this season.
Eddie Howe is known to be a big fan of the centre forward, who he worked with at Bournemouth, with the 28-year-old previously linked with a move to Tyneside.
United are thought to be looking for striker reinforcements in the summer, with neither Nick Woltemade nor Yoane Wissa providing enough goals despite a hefty £124m layout on the pair last August.
Should Spurs lose their place in the top-flight, there could be something of a firesale, with the Mail reporting Newcastle will keep a close eye on Solanke’s situation.

Madrid Tonali stance
Real Madird are reportedly interest in Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali – but Manchester City midfielder Rodri is their No 1 target. The Italian has been linked with a move away this summer, although his contract runs until 2029, with the option of another year.
Arsenal could make a play for Tonali this summer, although United will be desperate to keep their key midfielder.
Reports from Spain suggest he is also on Madrid’s wishlist, but Spanish star Rodri would be their preferred target.

Goalkeeper pricetag
Newcastle will have to act fast if they are to secure a deal for goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen this summer. United are thought to be keen on the Brighton shot-stopper, who could be available for around £40-50m.
However, the likes of Chelsea and Aston Villa have also been linked with the Dutch 23-year-old, and United are wary of a bidding ware. Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel is also said to be under consideration.
