After opening the tournament with a dominant 48–7 win over Wales, England’s challenge has collapsed with three consecutive defeats. Losses to Scotland (31–20) and Ireland (42–21) were followed by a historic 23–18 defeat to Italy in Rome, the first time England have ever lost to the Azzurri in the competition.
