The forthcoming Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic game has proceeded just a little bit further into development, as the title has received its Studio Art Director.
Â
Pascal Blanché, a longtime fan of the Star Wars franchise, has revealed his involvement with Fate of the Old Republic via the following post on BlueSky:
“Super excited to announce that I started a new position as Studio Art Director at ArcanautStudios, where I joined forces with Casey Hudson and his amazing team to work on the next epic Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic! #swfotor“
Â
Blanché wrote on his Instagram profile that the original Star Wars was an instrumental influence on him as a creative, so Fate of the Old Republic is likely a dream come true. His previous body of work includes creating art for the video games like Myst IV: Revelation, James Cameron’s Avatar The Game, Runescape, Far Cry: New Dawn, and Meet Your Maker, along with the film adaptation of Aquaman.
Â
Another creative involved with the upcoming RPGÂ is none other than Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic director Casey Hudson, who will return to direct the spiritual successor to his original Star Wars RPG that he developed with BioWare back in 2003.
Â
Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic is currently in development for PC and consoles. Details on the new title are scarce, but it appears that the game is built around the player’s choice to follow a path of light or to follow a path of darkness, much like its spiritual predecessor, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. No release date for Fate of the Old Republic has been set as of yet, but Hudson has indicated that we thankfully won’t have to wait all the way until 2030 to play the game.
