Koki Kameda’s 3150Fight is headed back to Kyrgyzstan this April for another three-day Saikou x LUSH event, this one set to run from the 17th to the 19th. Though they’ve yet to announce the full roster, they did confirm what could be an electric clash of villains between Luis Nery and John Riel Casimero.
The WBA “gold” title, one of many they were supposed to phase out, will be on the line. This will presumably put the winner in the title picture if Naoya Inoue defeats Junto Nakatani and moves up to 126.
Nery (37-2, 28 KO) and Casimero (35-5-1, 24 KO) have been plying their trades at featherweight lately to very different results. Nery rebounded from his destructive loss to Inoue by stopping Kyonosuke Kameda and dominating Sathaporn Saart, while Casimero lost wide to Kameda in October. It was the latest in a long line of self-inflicted indignities for “Quadro Alas;” at his best, he’s a must-watch wrecking machine, but his complete lack of discipline has left him adrift for the past several years. Hell, it’s an open question whether he can even make 122 at this point.
If he can, though, don’t blink. This could be a firefight for the ages, one that you can conveniently watch on YouTube once you figure out the time zone difference.
David Jimenez will be in action the day after and Kameda recently won the purse bid for Willibaldo Garcia’s mandatory IBF super flyweight title defense against Andrew Moloney, so expect to see that one here as well.
