A second Huddersfield Giants player has left the club in a short period of time to sign with a Championship club.
The transfer deadline day had initially been August 1st, however, it has been bumped back until August 21st for Championship clubs meaning that more deals are being done.
One of them happened prior to the weekend’s games with the Giants confirming that Jack Billington had joined Batley Bulldogs on a two-week loan deal, and Huddersfield have now announced another loan exit.
Jack Bibby has signed with Widnes Vikings on loan until the end of the season with the forward set to add bulk to Allan Coleman’s pack as Widnes make a late dart for the play-offs.
The Vikings currently sit ninth, six points shy of sixth-placed Doncaster and with just six games remaining, it’s a tough ask to make the six.
On Widnes’ side is the fact that they play three of the bottom four and three of the four teams immediately above them.
Jack Bibby leaves Huddersfield Giants on loan
Jack Bibby will hopefully help them in those games as he becomes the latest Super League loanee at the club after Will Roberts of St Helens.
Confirming his exit, the Giants announced: “Jack Bibby has joined Betfred Championship club Widnes Vikings on a loan until the end of the season.
“Widnes Vikings currently sit 9th in the Betfred Championship and will be a perfect opportunity for Jack to go out on loan and get game time. Jack is now the third Giants player out on loan, with Jack Billington and Aidan McGowan playing for Batley Bulldogs in the same competition.”
The Vikings head coach Allan Coleman said: “It’s great to have Jack on board, it’s a massive plus for us to have him come in with the run we’ve got now till the end of the season.
“He’s a tough, robust middle who came through the Wigan academy system before joining Huddersfield.
“He’ll bring a lot of energy to us and give some real competition for places for the back end of the season.”
