PickMon, the Breath of the Wild-inspired Palworld knock-off – itself a notorious ripoff of Pokémon – has officially gone viral.
Dev PocketGame is touting impressions of over 25 million across all websites and venues, a colossal success for a small indie project. Its official YouTube trailer has over 50k views thus far.

As we reported previously, this game is planned for PS5 in the future, and the dev says its actively taking on board and implementing all feedback.
But whether it gets blocked by lawyers before it can make its way to Sony’s system remains to be seen.

Palworld, already in an intense battle with Nintendo’s legal team, will now take a taste of its own medicine, with PickMon due out on PS5 at some point in the future.
The game shares PocketPair’s love for Pokémon designs, but throws in survival gameplay and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild tunic for good measure.
Much like Palworld, this is being pitched as an open world survival game, so you’ll be taming PickMon to fight your battles in a vast, rural open world.

We’re not convinced this is ever actually going to come out, but it’s available to wishlist on Steam right now, and the dev says it plans to port the project to PlayStation at a later date.
So which lawyers bite first? Palworld’s or Pokémon’s? It could go either way, we reckon.
