Apex
A new photo is out of Taron Egerton trying out his dark side as the villain in “Apex,” the new Netflix survival thriller film releasing April 24th in which he plays a hunter out to kill Charlize Theron’s climber Sasha in the brutal wilderness of the Australian bush.
Director Baltasar Kormákur tells Empire the role was re-written around Egerton and the director “really wanted him to do is find the creep inside himself”. Egerton says a big appeal of his character is the allusions to dark events in his past without being spelled out and losing the enigma of him.
Scooby-Doo
Paul Walter Hauser (“Cobra Kai,” “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” “Black Bird”) reportedly has an offer for the role of the original owner of Scooby-Doo in the upcoming live-action “Scooby-Doo” series on Netflix. Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg (“Citadel,” “Cowboy Bebop”) steer the series.
If he signs, he’ll join McKenna Grace as Daphne and Frank Welker as the voice Scooby-Doo. Filming begins April 27th in Atlanta and follows how the Mystery Inc. group got together and first teamed up to crack the haunting case of a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder.
