The Marlow Murder Club‘s third season is nearly here and fans can expect more twists and turns when it returns to our screens on Wednesday 18 March. The crime drama, from Death in Paradise creator Robert Thorogood stars Samantha Bond, Jo Martin and Cara Horgan as the three amateur sleuths who make up the titular club.

Speaking about season three to Radio Times, Bond said that the show’s appeal was in each episode’s “twists and turns,” adding: “The quality of the writing has been maintained now for three series, and one can’t ask for more than that.”

The third season will consist of six episodes and tackle three new murders, playing out across two episodes each.

Teasing what fans can expect from the new cases, Bond said: “Well, the great thing about The Marlow Murder Club is that the murder is always at the beginning.

“So storyline one, the mayor of the council gets murdered and there are all the councillors, and any one of them could have done it. And the twists and turns it takes you on are phenomenal.

“Then storyline two is the murder of a celebrity chef, and who could have done it, and why, or were they in it together?

“And then the last one, which is also a wonderful story, is a university reunion for Becks and her friends. And of course, one of them gets killed. Is it one of her friends who’s killed another of her friends? Or is there someone else in that house?”

Alongside Bond, Martin, and Horgan, season three will also see the return of Natalie Dew as DS Tanika Malik, as well as Phill Langhorne, Holli Dempsey, Tijan Sarr, and Huw Quarshie in the supporting cast.

There will also be a number of well-known faces stopping by Marlowe as guest stars, including EastEnders’ Nigel Harman, Doctor Who’s Peter Davison, and Harry Enfield.

The Marlow Murder Club seasons 1 and 2 are available on U now. Season 3 premieres Wednesday 18 March on U and U&DRAMA.
