Koumas’ impact was limited during his loan stint with Birmingham City in the opening half of the campaign.

He was restricted to just seven starts in the Championship under Chris Davies, with his only goal for the Blues coming in a 3-2 victory over league leaders Coventry City.

But he has featured in all nine of the Tigers’ league fixtures since joining Sergej Jakirović’s outfit on loan, starting three of the past four.

Koumas’ headed goal against Wrexham typified his recent improvement since making the switch to MKM Stadium.

“It’s a nice feeling to score in Wales and to pick up three points on the road,” added Koumas. It’s a massive win. We knew it was a big game. To see the game out, it’s a good feeling.

“I’m loving it here at Hull. It’s a really great place to be around and I’m just really happy in general. I’m looking to develop and I feel like it’s going great here. I’m just excited now for the rest of the season.”
