Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks has officially announced a new family will be relocating to Chester, with the trio played by some well-known faces from Emmerdale and Coronation Street. The Channel 4 soap is set to welcome the Keanes, a new family played by Emmerdale’s Matthew Wolfenden with Corrie’s Rebecca Ryan and Lewis Walton.
Following whispers last month that Wolfenden, best known for playing David Metcalfe, and Ryan, who portrayed Lydia Chambers, would be joining Hollyoaks, Channel 4 has now released official images of the Keanes as they playfully pack a moving van to start a new life in Chester. Walton, who played young Mick Michaelis on Corrie, joins the duo as their son.
“I’m so excited to finally share that I’m joining Hollyoaks as part of a brand-new family arriving in the village,” Wolfenden said in a statement, teasing some “special” episodes ahead.

“It’s an absolute privilege to step into this world and be part of something so iconic. From the moment I read the scripts, I knew this was going to be something special. I can’t wait for the audience to meet them and see how they turn a few heads along the way… it’s going to be a ride, buckle up,” he added.
Ryan described her character as a “firecracker” and also shared her excitement at soap fans meeting the Keanes.
“I am so excited to be joining the cast of Hollyoaks. My character is feisty and a bit of a firecracker but fiercely loyal. I am so excited for everyone to meet her,” she said.
“I am having the best time so far and can’t wait for her story to unfold.”

As for Walton, he shared that the youngest Keane is “charismatic” and “sporty”, as the newly released pictures see the character holding a basketball, a passion he shares with his dad.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Hollyoaks cast. My character is charismatic, sporty and someone who’s always been the fun, positive presence in the room,” Walton said. “He’s incredibly close to his family and determined to follow in his dad’s footsteps, while chasing big ambitions of his own, especially when it comes to sport.
“But life doesn’t always go to plan, and an unexpected challenge will force him to dig deeper than ever before…”
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
