Excitement is mounting for the opening of a new glow-in-the-dark mini-golf centre called Globalls.

It will be opening at the former site of Iceland in St Thomas Street. The premises have been empty for more than four years after the frozen food supermarket closed its doors.

Globalls previously confirmed that 10 full-time and part-time jobs will be created at the site in the town centre.

It was reported in September that the attraction was planning to open either at the end of November or early December. However, the project was put back due to shipping and delivery delays of giant structures of animals and dinosaurs that will go inside the two twelve-hole golf courses, which will be called Zoozilla and Dinotopia.

Now it has been revealed that the site will open its doors officially on Monday, March 23, with bookings now open on the Globalls website.

The final touches are being finalised before the attraction will open ahead of the Easter holidays.

A spokesperson for Globalls said: “Globalls Weymouth officially opens on Monday, March 23. Early bookings are now open with anyone who signs up on our website able to get first access to book their tee times.

“We’re putting the final touches in place and can’t wait to welcome you through the doors.

“Zoozilla is a breath-taking 12-hole mini golf course set in an exotic animal-themed world unlike anything you’ve seen before. Filled with glowing animals of every kind, Zoozilla won’t disappoint.
