Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has identified a key Manchester United ace as a replacement target for Marco Asensio this summer, according to stunning reports.
Marco Asensio spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign alongside Marcus Rashford at Aston Villa after he completed a loan move back in February.
The 29-year-old Spaniard’s loan deal at Villa Park ended after the Premier League campaign and Asensio returned to parent club Paris Saint-Germain in July.

Fenerbahce had been linked with former Aston Villa star Asensio and Jose Mourinho’s side appeared within touching distance of sealing a transfer this summer.
Journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu previously reported in June that Asensio had been ‘offered’ to Fenerbahce and a deal appeared on the table for the PSG star.
However, he reported on Monday that it remained unclear whether or not the agreement between PSG and Fenerbahce would be ‘upheld or cancelled.’

According to Birmingham Live, Marco Asensio rejected a potential salary worth around €9m amid the negotiations between Fenerbahce and Paris Saint-Germain.
The former Real Madrid star’s future remains uncertain at PSG this summer and Fenerbahce could now end their pursuit of Asensio and target Alejandro Garnacho.
Milliyet now reports that Fenerbahce have ‘turned their attention’ to the 21-year-old Manchester United outcast and Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the Chelsea-linked ace.
The Turkish newspaper reports that the former Chelsea and United manager sees Alejandro Garnacho as a ‘highly desired’ player and would welcome his signing.
Garnacho is now expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after the winger fell out of favour with Ruben Amorim in the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.
Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahce have one key ‘obstacle’ in signing Alejandro Garnacho from Man Utd
Alejandro Garnacho has been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and the Spain-born attacker has been left out of Ruben Amorim’s plans at United.
Chelsea have been linked with the talented Red Devils attacker, but a move to the Premier League club has failed to materialise for Garnacho this summer.
Garnacho is under contract with United until 2028 and the Argentina international has previously attracted interest from Serie A champions Napoli.
According to Milliyet, the ‘biggest obstacle’ for Mourinho and Fenerbahce in signing Garnacho is the ‘market value of €45 million’ placed on the player.
