We’ll have a bit of a throwback scene at Sawgrass later on, with PGA Tour boss Brian Rolapp confirming they’ll drop the ropes and let the fans on 18 walk up behind the final group of the day.
“We’re very excited about it,” said Rolapp.
“In order to really lean into the history of The Players and be fan-friendly and capture what the fans want, we’re going to drop the ropes on 18 when the final group comes up.
“This is so the fans can actually experience that championship feeling with the leader and hopefully the eventual champion.
“It’s a tradition that I’ve heard many fans want back, so that’s what we’re going to do this weekend.”
The way things are going right now though the winner won’t be coming from our final group out on the course…
