Warrington Wolves boss Sam Burgess has confirmed that two members of his forward pack have suffered injury in victory over Goole Vikings.
The Wolves progressed to the last eight of the Challenge Cup with relative ease, securing a 78-10 win over the Championship side.
After the scores were tied 6-6 after the opening 10, the Super League playoff-hopefuls started to run away with the tie, and took a 42-6 lead into the break.
However, the first half saw Burgess lose two of his pack members, as both Toafofoa Sipley and Jordan Crowther picked up knocks.
Speaking to the press post-match, the Wire boss confirmed: “Toph [Sipley] looks like he’s picked up an injury, lower leg, so more than likely he’s going to be out for a little while, we’ll get of scans on Monday and see how bad it is.
“…He’s actually injured his knee [previously], so he’s carrying his knee and he’s done his calf on the other leg [against Goole], so he’s got a couple of things. We’ll see how it is and hopefully it’s not too bad.
Crowther has also picked up an ankle injury, with Burgess being forced to use more interchanges in the first half than originally planned, however he was happy with how his side reacted to the change in game plan, and was glad the side got through the second stanza unscathed.

Warrington Wolves boss praises “natural talent” on try-scoring debut
One of Warrington’s 11 try-scorers was winger Lachlan Webster, who made his professional debut for the club in the absence of Josh Thewlis, who featured at full-back in place of the injured Cai Taylor-Wray.
“He’s a natural talent is Lachlan,” explained a delighted Burgess, who spoke to the press post-match. “He’s played a number of positions for us over the pre-season, centre, wing, full-back. He played a bit of full-back for the last ten minutes today, just to get Josh out of there.
He’s a natural player, I think he’s someone you’ll see a bit more of in the next couple of years at this club, he’s a very talented young man
“He’s got a great attitude, he’s got a beautiful family. His parents, Lee and Sam, came in before the game, and you can see why he’s such a good young lad. He’s got a great family.
“I think we’ll see a bit more of him over the next couple of years when his opportunities come.
