Jessie Buckley, who lives in Norfolk, and is originally from Ireland, took home the gong for best leading actress.

She won the award for her parts as Agnes Shakespeare, the wife of playwright William, in Hamnet.

Mrs Buckley moved to Norfolk in 2020, where she lives with her husband, Freddie.

The pair had originally intended to move to Suffolk but opted for Norfolk after falling in love with “an amazing old house”.

She fended off stiff competition from other household names such as Emma Stone and Kate Hudson.

In her winning speech, she made a poignant nod to Mother’s Day.

Buckley gave birth to a baby girl last year and thanked “the incredible women that I stand beside”.

She even gave her daughter, Isla, a shoutout.

She added: “She has absolutely no idea what’s going on and is probably dreaming of milk, but this is kind of a big deal, and I love you and I love being your mom, and I can’t wait to discover life beside you.”
