Oasis fans heading to the band’s remaining two shows at Heaton Park this weekend are being told to brace for torrential rain and thunderstorms.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the north-west of England, with wet and windy conditions expected to reach Manchester late on Friday and remain in place well into Saturday and Sunday.

The latest report from the UK’s national weather service says torrential, thundery rain will bring 20-30 mm in less than an hour in many places, with 60-90 mm in less than three hours possible in a few places.

Whilst rain will clear in parts by early Saturday afternoon, further thunderstorms are likely to develop.

As well as heavy rain, impacts from frequent lightning, gusty winds and large hail are also likely.

The extreme conditions could lead to disruptions to transport and travel, so concert-goers are being advised to plan their journey to see the Gallagher brothers with that in mind.

Flash flooding is also likely in some areas and power cuts could occur as a result of the storm.

Households are being advised to prepare to protect their property and people from injury.

Before gusty winds arrive, check to ensure moveable objects or temporary structures are well secured.

Oasis fans have been blessed so far with sunshine and high temperatures for the band’s eagerly-awaited homecoming.

The whole country was in the grips of the third heatwave of 2025 when the first of five shows got underway last Friday.

One man who appeared unaffected by the sweltering heat was Liam Gallagher.

The 52-year-old strutted onto the stage on night one wearing his iconic green parka, and remained in the coat for the entirety of the performance despite temperatures above 30C.

Many fans speculated as to how he stayed cool, with several suggesting he had an electric neck fan hidden underneath the garment.
