Craig Bellamy has announced a 26-player squad as Cymru look to book their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup through the play-off pathway.
Cymru welcome back Danny Ward and Rabbi Matondo, who are returning to the squad for the first time this season. Ben Davies, Chris Mepham and Kieffer Moore are unavailable after picking up injuries since the last international window.
The play-off pathway begins with a semi-final against Bosnia & Herzegovina on Thursday 26 March in front of a sold-out Cardiff City Stadium (KO 7:45pm). Should Cymru win, they will then face either Italy or Northern Ireland in a play-off final match, again at a sold-out Cardiff City Stadium (7:45pm) on Tuesday 31 March.
Craig Bellamy’s side will be playing in front of a Red Wall atmosphere that’s synonymous with big nights at the Cardiff City Stadium. Those nights include the play-off route to the 2022 FIFA World Cup against Austria and Ukraine and last November’s emphatic 7-1 over North Macedonia which saw a hat-trick for Harry Wilson and goals for David Brooks, Brennan Johnson, Dan James and Nathan Broadhead to finish the qualifying group stage on a high.
The winner of the play-off pathway will book themselves a place in this summer’s FIFA World Cup in north America, where they have been drawn in Group B with hosts Canada, Switzerland and Qatar.
