Blackpole Recycling Limited in Worcester went into administration on March 5.

The business premises in Blackpole Trading Estate West is sealed off behind concrete blocks and a locked gate as measures were taken by the Environment Agency to secure the site.

However, now customers who were left in limbo over uncollected skips may finally have an answer after administrators released a key update.

Mark Blackman and Michael Lennon of KR8 Advisory Ltd were appointed as Joint Administrators of Blackpole Recycling Limited on March 5.

A spokesperson for KR8 said of Blackpole Recycling: “The company has ceased to trade with immediate effect and the Joint Administrators are supporting the affected employees throughout the process of claiming their statutory entitlements from the Redundancy Payments Service.

“The Joint Administrators are working alongside the Environment Agency, which includes the development of a strategy for the collection of customer skips.

“All enquiries relating to the Administration of the Company should be directed to Blackpole@kr8.co.uk.”

We have previously reported how about 100 skips from Blackpole Recycling Limited were removed and being stored on land at Stone Arrow Farm in Peopleton, off the A44 Evesham Road.

The Environment Agency issued the site operator with a suspension notice due to piles of wood and plasterboard exceeding safe limits and a failure to maintain fire breaks on February 17.

Environment Agency inspections on February 23 and 25 confirmed new waste had been brought onto the site, creating a pile around six metres high, both inside and outside of the main shed.

Several skips were reported stolen from the premises on February 25.

A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said this week: “The Court has granted our application for a Restriction Order which prohibits anyone from importing waste to the site. We have installed concrete blocks and a lock on the gates as measures to prevent further waste being deposited.

“We are working closely with the Administrators appointed on March 5 in relation to next steps.

“We continue to work with the police force and local councils to investigate suspected illegal waste activity in the Worcestershire area.”

As previously reported, Blackpole Recycling Limited in Worcester has now formally appointed administrators with an official public record published in The London Gazette giving details of the insolvency case.

Published on Tuesday, the corporate insolvency case in the High Court of Justice is summarised as ‘treatment and disposal of non-hazardous waste’ and the ‘recovery of sorted materials’.
