The Fakenham Food Market launched on March 14 and will take place every second Saturday until December.

It was officially opened by Jerome Mayhew MP, with hundreds of people in attendance on the day.

The market was organised by Shop Fakenham in an effort to showcase the town as a vibrant retail and leisure destination.

Claire Howard, co-founder of Shop Fakenham, said: “The first market exceeded our expectations with the quality of stalls we had and the number of visitors.

“It was fantastic to see the town centre so busy on a Saturday morning with people chatting, enjoying street food and filling their bags with fantastic local produce”.

Some of the stallholders included seafood from Willie Weston, gyozas from Tasty Gyoza, locally made conserves from Essence Foods and local mutton from Stark Herdwicks.

The market is scheduled to run from 9.30am to 1.30pm, with Mrs Howard adding that it will soon become “a must-visit for foodies in Norfolk”.
