St Helens coach Lee Briers believes that Kyle Feldt can have no complaints over the three-match suspension he received in victory over Castleford Tigers.

Feldt received a sin-bin in that game for a high and late shot on Tigers centre Krystian Mapapalangi, who was forced from the field for a HIA which he subsequently failed.

Following that game, the RFL’s Match Review Panel deemed that the incident was worth a Grade D charge, meaning that the winger received 18 points on his record, putting him over the threshold for a three-match ban.

Feldt will serve the first of his three games this weekend, as his side face Toulouse Olympique away from home.

Assistant coach Briers spoke to the press ahead of that game in France, and explained how neither the player nor club can have any complaints about the suspension.

“No, you can’t complain,” he said. “Kyle’s made a judgement, and what you’ve got to remember is it happens so quick.

“Kyle needs to bend his back a bit there and go under the ball. He got his timing wrong, and it is what it is. We take it on the chin and move on”

With Feldt absent, it means that there could be game time for Owen Dagnall, in what would be his first start since a win over Hull FC in August 2025.

Dagnall has featured from the bench a couple times this season, including last week where he was activated at 18th man, featuring for the final few minutes of the game.

Should George Whitby feature this week, it could mean that Tristan Sailor goes to full-back, Harry Robertson starts in the centres and Deon Cross moves back out to the wing, so whilst the club do have their injury problems, there are still a number of options for Paul Rowley to choose from in regards to his three-quarters.
