Currently waiting for approval by the media regulator, OFCOM, Angel Radio is set to become a digital radio station, significantly expanding its reach across the Island.
This development, powered through the Wight Digital radio network, promises to bring the station’s unique programming to more listeners than before.
Despite this shift to digital, the station has assured its audience that it will continue to be available on FM radios.

Established in 1999, Angel Radio made history as the Island’s first community radio station.
It began full-time broadcasting on the WightFibre network, known then as Wight Cable, in 2001.
After facing considerable obstacles, the station finally secured a full FM licence and began broadcasting around the clock on 91.5 FM from March 24, 2007.

For 19 years, the station has continued operating with the dedicated support of a team of volunteers.
The station covers a wide range of old comedy programmes, including Hancock’s Half Hour, The Goons, Round the Horn, and Life with the Lyons, among others.
It also airs numerous American vintage radio programmes like Dragnet, The Shadow, Harry Lime, Sherlock Holmes, and more.
Furthermore, Angel Radio is a go-to station for classic music lovers, as it plays a vast selection from the 1900s to the 1960s, including music from legends like Bing Crosby, Al Jolson, and Nat King Cole.
