Sky News has been speaking to students waiting to receive a vaccine at the University of Kent.
“Everyone is pretty desperate to get one,” one man says.
“I’ve heard some people complaining that [health officials] took too long to email and contact students, but do I agree with that? Not really.
“There’s a lot of risk and pressure involved, and making the right decision is not easy. I think they’re doing a decent job.”
Another student in the queue said many of his friends were “staying cooped up at home; nobody is going to the library or anything like that”.
Two other students who spoke to Sky News said they were among those who turned away from the centre yesterday due to staff shortages.
“We came yesterday and were told to come back today. It was annoying,” they said.
“We woke up at the crack of dawn today to come here.”
