Food waste collections are returning to Preston in the coming weeks after more than a decade since they were scrapped.
Preston City Council started to deliver grey caddy bins to households across the city from late February.
Collections, which are weekly, will begin from Monday 20 April.

Anyone who receives a caddy is being asked to store them away until the collections start and not to begin using them immediately.
Two bins are being delivered, a smaller kitchen unit caddy and a second larger outdoor caddy which has a lockable bin lid to stop rodents and vermin.
Here’s a run through of what can be put into the food waste bins and what can’t.
You can recycle into your food waste bin the following
Vegetable peelings
Baked goods
Fruit
Rice, beans and pasta
Egg shells
Tea bags
Coffee grounds
Raw and cooked meat or fish, including small bones
Pet food
Uneaten food and plate scrapings
Mouldy and out of date food
What can you not put in?
Oil or liquid fat
Liquids such as milk or juice
Any non-food products such as cutlery, general waste, food packaging such as tubs, trays or foils, napkins, wipes, kitchen roll or any compostable or biodegradable packaging.

The grey food caddy is due to be collected each week alongside either the black general waste bin or recycling bin collections which are both fortnightly.
There is no charge for the service which is being brought in as part of a UK-wide push for households to recycle more food waste and stop it going to landfill.
