Formerly head of Customer Care with the brewing giants Mazoyer was recently promoted to a new post as Heineken’s Head of On Trade Operations.
Reporting to Chief Executive Michael Nicholson and Chief Financial Officer Chris McKay the Glasgow University graduate is now expected to take responsibility for improving a raft of supporter services at Parkhead, including retail operations, ticketing, hospitality sales and stadium services.
According to the job ad the successful candidate will also be expected to ‘play a key role in ensuring our supporters are able to share in the success and experience of being part of Celtic through multi-channel engagement across the club.’
Finding ways to improve the strained relationship between supporters and the club is a target of interim chairman Brian Wilson after a season of discord, boycotts and a ban on the Green Brigade ultras. Over 400 fan groups came together to forge the Celtic Fans’ Collective and promote the “Not Another Penny” campaign, urging fans to cut their spending money on merchandise and match day food.
Criticised for failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, the appointment of Wilfried Nancy and the spending of recent windows – despite retaining close to £70million in the bank – Celtic promised disgruntled fans a review of the way they recruit players.
The collective have also criticised the ‘leadership, direction and basic standards; an ageing stadium footprint in need of investment, lack of surrounding infrastructure, flawed development pathways and a widening gap between the club’s potential and the level of ambition being shown.’
