She revealed that the cancer was caught at a very early stage following a routine mammogram she attended just before Christmas, despite experiencing no symptoms whatsoever.

“About a month ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer very early stage thankfully & the prognosis is excellent,” she wrote. “I had a routine mammogram a week before Christmas.” (sic)

The writer confirmed that her outlook remains positive, with doctors giving her an excellent prognosis.

Since the announcement, Mr Gervais has been quiet across socials and supporting Ms Fallon to get through this huge life-altering news.

However, the comedian went live on his YouTube account yesterday, where fans were eager to have an update on his wife’s condition.

One fan asked Mr Gervais how Fallon was doing after the recent news, to which he simply responded: “Doing well, thank you.”

Mr Gervais didn’t speak anymore on the matter, keeping his and Ms Fallon’s lives private.

Since announcing the news, the novelist has undergone an extensive series of examinations to determine the precise location of the cancer.

“Since then I’ve had more mammograms, more biopsies and an MRI so they can pinpoint the problem area precisely,” MsFallon added in her social media announcement.

The diagnosis has involved multiple rounds of imaging and tissue sampling as medical professionals work to build a complete picture of her condition.

Her case highlights the vital importance of routine breast screening, with the cancer detected solely through the mammogram rather than any physical symptoms she had noticed herself.

Ms Fallon acknowledged that the weeks since her diagnosis have been challenging and admitted: “It’s been a lot, I’m not going to lie.”

Despite the devastating news, Ms Fallon is now focused on her upcoming treatment, with surgery scheduled for later this month.

“My surgery is scheduled for the week after next and I just want to get it over with now,” she said.

She expressed confidence in the medical team treating her, stating she is receiving outstanding care and reassuring fans that everything will be fine.

In the meantime, she has been keeping herself occupied with audiobooks and jigsaws while limiting her engagement with the outside world.

“I’m getting incredible care and all will be fine but I’m not engaging with much beyond audiobooks & jigsaws tbh,” she wrote. (sic)

Hours before announcing her diagnosis, Mr Gervais revealed that he no longer wanted to appear on TV and would be focusing on growing an online audience.

During an Instagram live, he expressed: “The reason I want to build up a following and subscribe on YouTube is so I never have to do another press interview or go on telly and have to put on trousers to promote my stuff.”

He suggested that speaking directly to fans online felt more natural and connected, rather than the traditional sense of public appearances.

“That’s the idea. So I can come here for a chat. I can answer your questions… I want to deal directly with you.”
