The ATP Miami Open hits its stride on Day 3 with a solid card of second-round action. With some big names on bye and others still finding their footing in the Florida humidity, the door is open for a few upsets. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the schedule. But who will advance?
ATP Miami Day 3 PredictionsÂ
Aleksandar Vukic vs Rafael Jodar
Head-to-Head: First meeting
This is one of the match of the day. Jodar has been one of the stories of the tournament, and the wider 2026 season. Just a year ago, the 19-year-old Spaniard was outside the Top 700 in the world. Now, after wins over three qualifying opponents and veteran Yannick Hanfmann in the main draw, he is on the brink of a Top 100 debut. Vukic enters as a lucky loser and has not played his way into the tournament–he has been handed his spot. Jodar plays with a power and directness that is genuinely difficult to handle, and the momentum is firmly on his side. Vukic is a capable hard-courter but this feels like Jodar’s moment to keep rolling.
Prediction: Jodar in 3
Zizou Bergs vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry
Head-to-Head: Bergs 1–0 EtcheverryÂ
Bergs enters Miami having lost in the first round of three of his last four hard-court events before Indian Wells, where he did beat Jan-Lennard Struff before falling to Tommy Paul. His 2026 form on hard courts has been patchy at best. Etcheverry, on the other hand, is among the players in the hottest form heading into Miami. The Argentine is a natural clay-courter but has been adapting his game well to hard surfaces this season. Bergs leads their only previous meeting, but Etcheverry looks the more dangerous player right now and should be motivated going deep into the draw.
Prediction: Etcheverry in 3
Raphael Collignon vs Flavio Cobolli
Head-to-Head: First meeting
Collignon has had a decent run to get here but faces a significant step up in class. Cobolli won the Mexican Open last month, defeating Frances Tiafoe in the final, and arrives in Miami with eight wins from his last ten hard-court matches. The Italian has been one of the most consistent ball-strikers on tour this season. Collignon will need everything to go right to compete here. Cobolli’s flat, aggressive baseline game suits these conditions and he should close this out without too much drama.
Prediction: Cobolli in 2
Tommy Paul vs Adrian Mannarino
Head-to-Head: Mannarino 2–1 PaulÂ
The head-to-head gives Mannarino the edge on paper, but context matters. Paul carries a 12-6 record in 2026 with 10 wins on hard courts, and his best result this season was a run to the final in Delray Beach. Mannarino, by contrast, has gone just 1-6 on hard courts in 2026. The Frenchman’s flat, lefty game can cause problems on a quick surface, but he has simply not been converting that into results this year. Paul is the more consistent threat right now and should come through, even if Mannarino makes it competitive.
Prediction: Paul in 3
