Leaked specifications for the upcoming OnePlus Watch 4 smartwatch appear to be rather disappointing. However, regulatory certificates seemingly have something interesting in store.

Courtesy of a known leaker on X/Twitter, we now know that the upcoming OnePlus Watch 4 is closer than ever, considering that the premium smartwatch has cleared EMVCo approval. The leaker, @sudhanshu1414, also revealed a bunch of specifications regarding the smartwatch.

For starters, it was claimed that the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC will be powering the OnePlus Watch 4. Launched back in 2023, the wearable SoC packs four Cortex A53 cores with a 1.7 GHz boost frequency. Although the W5 Gen 2 has already arrived, OnePlus has seemingly decided to stick with the older SoC.

A 1.5-inch LPTO AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 will be offered, which appears to be exactly the same as the OnePlus Watch 3 (currently $345 on Amazon). At 47 mm, the size has grown by a millimeter, indicating slightly thicker bezels if the display does end up being the same size.

Stronger IP rating should help the OnePlus Watch 4 survive outdoors

The 646-mAh battery will not be witnessing any upgrades either. It does appear that the only aspect of the watch which is set to boast a notable upgrade is the IP rating, which might be bumped to IP69 from IP68. This should allow the watch to handle high-pressure, high-temperature streams of water.

Upon searching EMVCo’s database, two variants of the OnePlus Watch 4 can be found – one with the XL907 tag, and the other with XL905. It is possible that OnePlus is readying a higher-tier or lower-tier variant for the smartwatch, but that remains to be seen.

Sudhanshu also claims that the smartwatch will feature WearOS 5.0, although the EMVCo listing clearly mentioned WearOS 6.0. The latter is most likely the correct one, considering that the Android 16-based WearOS 6 has already been out for a good while.

Two variants of the OnePlus Watch 4 have been certififed.
