The future of Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White is currently the hot topic.

Tottenham tried to sign Gibbs-White last week, and it seemed as though a deal could go through extremely quickly.

However, Evangelos Marinakis is considering legal action against Tottenham after they booked a medical despite failing to trigger the release clause accurately.

Gibbs-White returned to training on Monday with the rest of his teammates who had been on international duty, but the speculation remains rife.

It was quite cheeky of Forest to post a photograph on social media of Gibbs-White returning to training on Monday.

Now, the club’s media team has gone a step further and actually shared a photograph of him on Instagram wearing the club’s new training gear and smiling in training.

Forest are planning a new contract for Gibbs-White and it doesn’t appear as though the number 10 is unhappy to be in training with the club.

At this stage, anything could happen. The talk of the move to Tottenham has gone pretty quiet, and perhaps for now, Gibbs-White will remain on Trentside.

Forest will face Monaco on Saturday at the home of Chesterfield FC, and it will be intriguing to see if the midfielder gets some minutes in that game.

Forest need a Gibbs-White resolution

One way or another, something has to give with Gibbs-White.

It’s doing nobody any favours to keep him against his will and if Gibbs-White doesn’t want to leave on bad terms, he’d be wise to at least sign a new deal that enables the Reds to get more money out of a sale.

The Forest squad thought Gibbs-White would leave this summer, with Manchester City previously linked.

Forest have been linked with Jacob Ramsey and it will be hard for the Reds to do too much business unless they truly know how much money they have to spend this summer.

Summer activity has been pretty slow and the last thing Forest need is for this Gibbs-White situation to become a drawn-out affair.

Hopefully, there is some movement either in the way in the way of a transfer or a new contract very soon and both Gibbs-White and Forest can focus properly on the 2025/26 campaign.
