Ross Barton could be set for a surprising Emmerdale romance we did not see coming.
Scenes on Monday saw him make himself comfy at Home Farm, after Kim Tate hired him as security for the place. Amid her drama with ex Graham Foster as well as her step-grandson Joe Tate, Kim shocked them both by bringing Ross in as “extra muscle”.
Ross wasted no time in milking it with the duo as well as Dawn Taylor, making it clear he was going nowhere and Kim trusted him. As Dawn made her disgust clear and questioned what his motives were, Gabby Thomas had an entirely different reaction.
Gabby was clearly smitten with their new Home Farm addition, barely able to keep her eyes off him and offering to help him out. Ross winked at her making his own attraction clear, before asking for a drink to which Gabby raced in the kitchen to prepare.

So might there be some romance ahead for the pair? Gabby’s heart was broken when her short marriage to husband Vinny Dingle ended after he opened up to her about his sexuality. After their split, Vinny has very recently moved on with Ross’ brother Lewis Barton.
Gabby has remained single, while it was revealed she had cheated on Vinny ahead of their marriage. As for Ross, he was dealing with the heartbreak of the tragic death of his ex Rebecca White, before moving on with Steph Miligan.
But Ross slept with Manpreet Sharma after Steph ended things, and he then failed to admit this to Steph when, shortly after, she wanted to reconcile. Not only that but he then betrayed her again by sleeping with Charity Dingle, who is now pregnant with his child.
So could this be a chaotic and fun, yet surprising, new village romance? Will Ross and Gabby end up together, and how will Steph react when she returns to the village?

It comes as a recent episode teased someone unexpected may seal villain Joe’s downfall. With several characters wanting to teach him a lesson after his vile actions, including blackmail and framing Moira Dingle, a new culprit may have been revealed in the latest episode.
Joe found out that if Kim was to die, he would not be left the Home Farm estate. He claimed Home Farm was his right to have, furious that Kim had instead planned to leave it to Lydia Dingle in her will.
He decided to target Lydia, clearly wanting to get her out of the way and for Kim to leave Home Farm to him, should she die. Graham uncovered his plan and spilled all to Joe’s girlfriend Dawn, leaving her sickened.
She confronted him, telling him he needed to stop being childish and focus on what was important. With Dawn making it clear she will not back his “brutal” and cruel actions to get what he wants, does this prove she will expose him?
