Gemma Parkin, home manager at Queensmount, said: “Everyone here is immensely proud of the refurbishment.

“This investment has brought a fresh feel to the living environment, ensuring our residents continue to feel comfortable, happy, and truly at home.”

The 51-bed care home supports residents with nursing, residential, convalescent, and short-stay care.

The refurbishment included full redecoration, new furniture, and upgrades to communal areas such as the lounge, salon, and dining room.

Bedrooms were also redesigned.

Margaret Hillen, a resident at the home, said: “I think it looks fantastic, all the rooms are very modern.

“I enjoy spending time in the lounge with everyone, so it’s nice to see it have a facelift.”

Councillor Edwards praised the transformation and the home’s commitment to residents.

She said: “An investment of this scale not only enhances the lives of those living and working here but also demonstrates a significant commitment to our local community.

“It’s clear that Queensmount provides exceptional care, and these new facilities will only further enrich the experience for everyone.”
