Tyson Fury has caught attention once again, this time for his physical condition ahead of a crucial return. The heavyweight shared a new image on Instagram, showing a noticeably leaner frame.
The timing is significant. Fury is preparing to face Arslanbek Makhmudov on 11 April, his first fight since suffering a second straight defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024.
With talk of a potential Anthony Joshua clash and even a trilogy with Usyk still in the background, the 37-year-old’s fitness has quickly become a talking point.

The image sparked widespread reaction, with many surprised by Fury’s condition at this stage of his career.
One X user said: “Woaaaa. He looks more fit now than when he had hair 15+ years ago. Albeit a large part of his strategy is in the the clinch. He used his bulk to tire out his opponents. Still, would love to see what a lean Fury can do.”
“Wow no belly, in great shape then,” another one wrote.
“Tyson Fury is looking in some shape here. I still reckon he can beat Usyk if they eventually have a trilogy fight,” added a third boxing fan.
“Damn, his dad was holding him back lol.”
That last comment reflects a growing narrative around changes in Fury’s camp. Some fans believe adjustments behind the scenes, without his father John Fury involved, may be influencing his current form.
John Fury absence linked to ongoing family tension
John Fury, a constant presence throughout Tyson’s career, is notably absent from this training camp. Their relationship has recently been strained, with disagreements creating distance between them.
Reports suggest tensions escalated due to differing views on preparation and career direction.
John even told Playbook Boxing that his relationship with ‘The Gypsy King’ is ‘destroyed’, and suggested people around his son are influencing him to make wrong choices.
The absence marks a significant change in Fury’s setup. Whether it proves beneficial will become clearer when he steps back into the ring.
For now, his physical transformation has already set expectations ahead of his return.
