Catalans Dragons have rewarded young forward Alexis Lis with a huge contract extension, highlighting their commitment to developing young French talents.
Lis made his Super League debut in round two, in the club’s defeat to Bradford Bulls, after making his club debut in the Challenge Cup win over Batley a fortnight prior.
He was selected the Dragons’ round three game against St Helens, but prior to even playing for the Catalans first team, he made his international debut, featuring in a 34-0 victory for France over Morocco at the start of 2025, scoring a try in the win.
Lis had only signed his first professional contract in the middle of last season, having joined the club’s reserve side from Avignon.
After impressing through the ranks, the 20-year-old has signed a mega six-year contract, keeping him at the club until the end of 2031.
The contract is the longest ever given out in the club’s history, and he is now one of only two players to have current contract running that long – with Edwin Ipape at Leigh having the same length on his deal.

Super League club tie down youngster on huge six-year deal
Commenting on his new contract, Lis revealed: “I am very happy to sign my first contract with the Dragons and to commit for six years.
“I grew up supporting the club, and I’m really proud to now be part of it. Wearing the Dragons jersey was a goal I had set for myself, and I worked really hard to achieve this dream.
“I would like to thank the club for the trust they have placed in me and for this opportunity. I know the hardest is still to come, but I can’t wait to give everything on the field.”
Head coach Joel Tomkins said: “I believe Alexis has a huge future in the sport and his decision to commit to the Dragons long-term is fantastic news for the club and supporters.
“He has made a very positive impact on the squad since starting with us in preseason and is a great example to our other young players with his attitude and commitment to training.”
