Wigan Warriors have confirmed a season-long loan move for one player who they just recently recalled from a loan deal.

Tiaki Chan was signed on loan by Catalans Dragons in mid-February after round one but the French outfit confirmed on Thursday that Chan has been recalled by parent club Wigan Warriors.

Matt Peet’s side have now announced that the French international will actually be remaining in France, albeit with Toulouse Olympique, after signing a season-long loan deal with the Olympians.

It’s a major boost for Sylvain Houles’ side and their pack with Chan actually becoming the second Wigan Warriors forward on loan at the club, with Tyler Dupree also on a season-long loan at Toulouse.

Both men are off-contract with Wigan at the end of the season with fellow forward Sam Eseh Jr Wigan’s only other current player with no deal or options beyond this year.

Wigan Warriors send Tiaki Chan out on season-long loan

A statement from Wigan confirmed Chan’s switch to Toulouse, reading: “Wigan Warriors forward Tiaki Chan will join Toulouse Olympique on loan for the remainder of the 2026 Betfred Super League season.”

To date, Chan has played three times for Wigan but he’s spent the majority of his time at the club on loan elsewhere with Salford Red Devils and Catalans Dragons both previously loaning the prop.

It’s now the turn of Toulouse where Chan will join a pack that has seen fellow Wigan man Tyler Dupree become a key element of in the early stages of the 2026 Super League season.

Speaking on Chan’s move, Wigan boss Matt Peet said: “We’re pleased for Tiaki to continue to get to play at Super League level, as he has shown in recent weeks that he is more than capable.”
