Nottingham Forest defender Cuiabano is sparking interest from top European clubs grows amid claims the defender is not keen on a return to the City Ground.

The Forest left-back is currently on loan at Brazilian side Vasco da Gama and has impressed during his loan spell with five goal contributions in his last four matches.

He has become a key player under manager Renato Gaúcho which has only sparked further debate about his long-term future.

Cuiabano has never made a senior appearance for Forest having spent time on loan at Botafogo before moving to Vasco in January.

According to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, scouts from German clubs have been monitoring talent in the Brazilian league and it said they consider Cuiabano as the most impressive defender under the age of 23.

It is claimed there have been two enquiries from German sides Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen and they have both contacted Nottingham Forest and Vasco da Gama to explore the possibility of a deal for the player.

The player himself reportedly is not overwhelmingly sold on a return to Forest due to difficulties adapting to life in England.

It is said that he remains open to a move to another European club, but Vasco da Gama could scupper any plan for that to happen with the Brazilian side having an £8.6 million option to buy him permanently.

Vasco are considering taking up that move even though that fee would be considered big for any team in Brazil to pay.

If Vasco exercise the option, they plan to offer Cuiabano a contract until December 2030.
