Robbie Keane is in the running to be handed the reins at relegation-threatened Tottenham – according to a report.
The struggling North London club are on the hunt for a new boss after parting company with Igor Tudor on Sunday after just seven games at the helm.
The Croatian coach picked up just one point from a possible 12 in the league, leaving Spurs sitting just a point above the relegation zone worth seven games left to play.
Keane – who led Hungarian side Ferencvaros to the last 16 of the Europa League after winning the league title last season – was touted as a potential target to replace Brendan Rodgers at Celtic last year and recent reports claim that he is once again under consideration to succeed interim boss Martin O’Neill this summer.
But it’s now emerged that the Irishman could return to Tottenham in an interim capacity for the remainder of the campaign, having previously enjoyed two successful spells with the club as a player.
talkSPORT claim that the 45-year-old is being considered for the vacancy alongside several names including Sean Dyche, Adi Hutter and ex Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason.

They add that Spurs chiefs number one target is Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi and that approaches have been made to try and appoint the ex Brighton and Marseille boss before the end of the season.
Following Tudor’s arrival, former England star Joe Cole and ex Tottenham striker Peter Crouch both questioned why the club didn’t bring someone in like Keane, who knows what the Lilywhites are all about.
Speaking on TNT Sports, they said: “This was absolutely nailed on for someone like a Robbie Keane who has gone and proved himself and is a club legend. Or Glen Hoddle or Harry Redknapp, someone who has experience at Tottenham.”
Crouch added: “At least with (those appointments) you get the crowd up, galvanise it and everyone is behind you.
“They (the fans) are willing you to do well and if it ultimately doesn’t work, at least the crowd have been lifted and you feel like you’ve had that 12th man to try and get out of it.”
