The Platt family got back together over the weekend for a special reunion with the legendary Helen Worth — but one Coronation Street cast member was missing from the occasion!
Gail actor Helen took part in a special ‘An Evening With’ in Manchester, hosted by former Hayley Cropper actor Julie Hesmondhalgh.
Her on-screen family members Jack P Shepherd (David), Lucy Fallon (Bethany) and Julia Goulding (Shona) attended the event, but there was one notable absence.

Ben Price, who has played Gail’s son Nick Tilsley since 2009, was not seen in the group photos that Lucy uploaded to her Instagram.
However, Lucy explained in her caption: “My Platts – minus our Ben who was stuck on the motorway.”
At the event, Helen delved into why she decided to leave the ITV soap after five decades.
“It was only a bit towards the end when I got a bit tired. But the first, how many years? 49 years, were a dream,” she said.

“My final husband, John Thomson, was absolutely gorgeous to me, because by then I was rattling a bit. It was around about 4,000 episodes and I was rattling a little bit. And he was very sweet.”
She also admitted that the chaotic and non-linear filming schedule had gotten a bit confusing for her in her later years.
“It’s even worse than [it was before] now, because it can be a scene from one week, and then a scene from another episode, and then go back to the second week and do a scene in the same day”, she said.
The actor announced her departure in June 2024, and her final episode aired on Christmas Day that year, although Gail is still frequently mentioned and even made a brief cameo via a video message last year.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
